The Spellbreakers + Bangarang Sound Station

October 20, 2018 - Jeugdhuis De Vonk, Geel, Belgium.

With Antwerp based The Spellbreakers, a six-piece formation around flamboyant Belgian-Brazilian vocalist and visual artist Juli Jupter, Belgium welcomes an interesting and super creative new reggae band.

The Spellbreakers get their musical inspiration from, among others, roots formations from the ’70s and ’80s. In May 2018 the band presented their first EP/12″ Vinyl called “Who Feels It Knows It”, featuring two vocal cuts and an equal number of dubs. Listening to their debut release brings to mind UK roots bands like Capital Letters or Sceptre.

The Spellbreakers play conscious Rock Reggae Music in order to break the spells of Babylon. Their motto: Through Music we are free! Peace and Unity, One Love, Jah bless!

Band members :

Kingston Echo – guitar, spacey dub, producer
Philip “Blackfinger” Paquet- bass
Juli Jupter- lead vocals, rhythm guitar, small percussion
Militant Mila – bongos, melodica, backing vocals, small percussion
Fisherman Jasper – keys

BANGARANG SOUND STATION outta Herentals (Herbtals city as they call it), Belgium, is founded by two bad DJ’s, Jah Mi Gimme & Jah Moes I. For ten years by now they’ve played all kinds of music all over the place. Rediscovering their rastaroots, the’ve realised that the Reggae Sound is the only Sound. In this realisation they found a soulmate in Ras Rox. A soundboy filled with Irie vibes, who has grown out to be the MC of this righteous Sound Station. Currently Bangarang Sound Station consists of Jah Mi Gimme aka Tiny Tim (operator – selecta) and Ras Rox (MC)

Wether on their eyecatching mobile sound system or on regular sound systems, spreading Word, Sound and Power is the mission.
