Reggae Recipe

Reggae Recipe is a club founded in april 2005 in Amsterdam with the goal to promote (vintage) Jamaican music in a town which gets often associated with reggae only because of its soft drugs policy.

Nothing wrong with that of course, but we feel that reggae is much much more than that.
Also in Amsterdam!!!

We wanted to give our club an original, friendly and warm feel, very distant from the redgoldgreen/lionofjudah/haileselassie pastiche of 99% of the reggae clubs worldwide but also from the ‘monotone’ two-tone image of the ska scene.

And we found the key in another passion of ours: FOOD! Something matching perfectly this kind of music, which is spicy and tasty just as the Jamaican and Caribbean kitchen!

Over the years since our debut on 19 june 2005 we’ve been spinning in all the most important venues of our hometown, organising gigs and offering our guests free homemade Jamaican and Caribbean snacks.

And it’s that time of the year again, 3rd weekend of June.
When all reggae trains, flights and paths lead to Amsterdam!
Come celebrate our 13th anniversary in our beautiful town, enjoying great music selections, cocktails, free home made Caribbean food and, hopefully, some nice weather too!
